TENUN FABRIC INSPIRED HANDBAG COLLECTION
This collection embodies the theme of second chance, highlighting the internal struggle of coming to terms with our mistakes that allows growth. When we experience stages of regret, repentance and hope, we are transformed and are able to move on from our mistakes, fostering the idea of second chance. The progression of these stages represent a beautiful process of growth and introspection, which is communicated through the motif of the cross from the Tenun fabric of the Toraja people from Indonesia. Traditional symbolizing the idea of abundance and wealth, the motif of cross is played around with to be hidden, segmented, partially hidden and fully emerged. The cross serves as an indicator of the progressive abundance of growth and joy that comes through the stages of the internal struggle within the self. The last piece of the collection, the one that was prototyped, represents the final state of this internal process, which is a state of hope for a second chance and new life.
